Mattapoisett Narcotics Investigation Leads to Arrest for Distribution of Heroin
MATTAPOISETT: On Monday April 13, 2015 the Mattapoisett Police Department executed a search warrant at the Hillside Motel in Mattapoisett and a search warrant on Troy Jones, 35 from Wareham, MA who was residing at the Motel in room #109.
Over the past week narcotics officers conducted surveillance of Troy Jones at the Hillside Motel in Mattapoisett. During this time it was discovered that Troy Jones was selling illegal narcotics from his motel room at the Hillside Motel in Mattapoisett. Narcotics officers observed multiple people arrive at the motel to purchase narcotics. In addition, narcotics officers conducted controlled purchases of heroin from Troy Jones at the Hillside Motel.
As a result of the search warrants Troy Jones was found in possession of heroin which was packaged for distribution.
Also present at the time of the search warrant was Johna Fonseca, 35 from Wareham, MA. Johna Fonseca was found in possession of prescription medications belonging to another individual.
Subsequently Troy Jones was charged possession with the intent to distribute a class “A” substance subsequent offense (Heroin) and Johna Fonseca was charged with possession of a class “E” substance and conspiracy to violate controlled substance act.
During the investigation the Mattapoisett Police Department received assistance from the Wareham Police Department. In addition, detectives from the South Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (SEMLEC) detective division assisted in the execution of the search warrants. These agencies consisted of Carver Police and Middleboro Police. Also, members of the Bristol County Sheriffs South Coast Anti-crime Task Force assisted in the investigation.
