MATTAPOISETT: On Friday August 10, 2018 Detectives from the Mattapoisett Police Department arrested Sean Rattigan, age 24, of 346 Cedar St in New Bedford and Joshua Costa, age 38, of 44 Prospect Rd in Mattapoisett as a result of a narcotics investigation.
While conducting surveillance, Rattigan and Costa were observed meeting up in front of an apartment. As officers approached they observed Costa exchanging money with Rattigan. Costa was found to be in possession of heroin which was purchased from Rattigan. Rattigan was found to be in possession of money and Percocet’s.
A subsequent search of Rattigan’s apartment produced additional heroin, large quantities of pills, drug paraphernalia and a scale.
Costa was charged with Possession of a Class A Substance(heroin), and Rattigan was charged with Distribution of a Class A Substance, Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class B Substance, Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class E Substance. Rattigan also had outstanding warrants for his arrest.
Rattigan and Costa were transported to Wareham 4th District Court for arraignment.
