The Mattapoisett Police Department is seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual to join our department. Applicants must possess strong problem-solving abilities with a high level of integrity, and have effective verbal and written communication skills.

Mattapoisett is a member agency of South Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (SEMLEC) and participates in multiple units. SEMLEC Units include SWAT, Drone Unit, Motorcycle Unit, Search and Rescue Unit, Critical Incident Stress Management Unit, K-9 Unit, Marine/Dive Unit, Mobile Command Unit, Detectives Unit and Mountain Bike Unit.
Applicants must have the following:
• Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
• Possess a valid Massachusetts Class A License to Carry Firearms.
• Upon hire or within one year, obtain EMT Certification.
• Must pass a background investigation, medical evaluation, psychological examination and Physical Abilities Test (PAT).
