Mattapoisett Police arrested Shawn Oller, 39 years old formerly of 19 Young Road, Falmouth. Oller was arrested on three outstanding warrants last week. Oller has been residing at the Hillside Motel, Mattapoisett for several months. During the arrest of Shawn Oller officers located and recovered a stolen loaded .40 caliber Smith and Wesson semi-automatic hand gun and 2 additional loaded magazines from his motel room. The serial numbers on the firearm had been defaced to avoid any further tracing. Firearms such as these are often used to commit other violent crimes. Also located in the motel room was stolen property including various hand tools, power tools, and camping equipment. Some of the property has been connected to burglaries in Falmouth and Fairhaven. Shawn Oller has an extensive violent criminal record.
After an extensive investigation on 09/4/2015, the Mattapoisett Police arrested Oller on a felony arrest warrant at the Hillside Motel. Oller is being charged with Possession of a large capacity firearm, Possession of a loaded firearm, Defacing the serial numbers on a firearm, Possession of Ammunition, Firearm violation with 3 prior violent crimes and Receiving stolen property over $250.
This case is also under investigation by the Falmouth and Fairhaven Police Departments which will also result in additional charges for Shawn Oller.
